Being one of the biggest wholesale fish market in Japan and one of the biggest in the world, Tsukiji Fish Market has all the right to boost about it! Unlike small market we have here in Malaysia, here is where all the action begins. Early in the morning about 3 am, boats from all parts of the world arrives with approximately 2000 tons of seafood everyday to the market. If you come here around 5am (which I didn’t) you have the chance to see the tuna auction. Here, only the premium tuna fishes will be auctioned off,
with prices ranging from hundreds to thousands of US dollars!
People there are really friendly and don’t mind the occasional tourist wondering about the massive compound.
Anyone visiting Japan must not forget to visit this place. Very cool!
